Easter

Easter is here again!!! This year the Easter bunny was pretty generous. We got up and played for a little bit, then headed to church for the 8:30 service...

After church, we went to Grandpa and Grandma Lunn's house for Easter dinner and got some good pictures of the family...always a fun time with the family

Getting goodies from Grandpa and Grandma......
After dinner, we had an egg hunt...one out front for Caleb and Tanner where the eggs were hidden pretty hard, but they managed to find them all.

Then we went into the backyard for the girls turn.....where they had fun too.

Checking out the loot.....

picture of the kids after their loot, how much you wanna bet that at least 4 of the kids have candy in their mouth in this picture???
"our God is greater, our God is stronger, God you are higher than any other, God you are healer Awesome in power, our God, our God"
"And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us, and if our God is with us, then what could stand against us?"
Thank you God for sending your son to be the sacrifice for our sins. It still blows me away that you gave your one and only son for me. I can't even imagine giving up one of my children for someone else to be saved. Thank you that since you rose again we are able to celebrate Easter. Thank you for being with us and for us - what confidence that brings to me. You are awesome!!!

Happy Easter!

I read this passage this morning and was reminded again at the amazing and awesome sacrifice that was made for me Colossians 2:13-15
13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed[d] the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

Dallas Arboretum field trip

So, I got to chaperone Caleb's field trip to the Arboretum and after looking at the pictures, this is the only one I took with flowers behind it....This was a very cool field trip because the kids were free to roam for about 2 hours before they had to attend a class where they learned about the anatomy of the flower. So, we just roamed around and played for the whole time, had a picnic lunch, then went to our class (of which I also took zero pictures). This post is mostly for me so that I can remember all of Caleb's friends when we move....
This is Adrian - they talk video games - naturally they get along great....
Here is the group we hung out with - Jason, Hayden, Adrian, Caleb, Joe, and Briana - we are missing David and Mia...
They had this little village of small houses that the kids had fun playing in
We then realized that there were 7 castles (okay not really castles, more like structures) all over the arboretum, so we set off to find all 7....here we are in the little mermaid. We found all 7 - Princess and the Pea, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, Pocahontas, and Aladdin - may not be 100% correct as I am going off my memory....but close anyway :)
oh, there are some more flowers....
This is Hayden - a very dear friend of Caleb's, they were in Kindergarten together and they both love a lot of the same things....

This is Mia...Caleb and her are "just friends" - he is still set on marrying Adeline (a girl from pre school that he hasn't seen since pre-school) - Mia and Caleb both love Mario...Mia loves Yoshi and Caleb loves Mario...
After we ate lunch, we found this monster hill and let the kids run up and roll down it forever. I distinctly remember doing that in our front yard as a kid....not sure I ever want to do it again, but I am sure I loved it as much as these guys did.
I always love to go on field trips to watch my kids play with their peers and to get to know the other parents. It was a great day.

Egg Hunt

Today our Sunday school class had its annual Easter Egg hunt. Each family brought their own lunch and then we had an egg hunt for the kids. Of course, the kids were super excited to collect their eggs. Each kid brought 12 filled eggs to share....lots of kids means lots of eggs to hide.
Here they are gathering their eggs....

After collecting their eggs and examining their loot....they were pretty happy
This is the group we had of kids....I don't even know how many there were there, but we had a great time with our friends.

Easter Cookies

So I had this idea that we would spend Saturday evening decorating cookies....well, of course it took longer than I thought (it always does, doesn't it?). So, I had the kids get their pajamas on and quickly decorate two cookies each...They had fun, but I know they would have enjoyed doing more than two....it's okay though because we have to make some more later this week....

Legoland

Before we move to Colorado, we decided to take a trip to Legoland in Grapevine which just opened up a couple weeks ago. We thought we were being smart by skipping school and avoiding the weekend rush, but we didn't avoid school field trips...oh well, we had SO much fun regardless. We met our good friends Jacob, Emma, and their mom Tamara and had a great time with them. Here we are at the front of Legoland.
They had AMAZING displays of legos - this one was coming out of the ceiling and his arms moved...the kids were in awe at this point...
We went through a small tour of how they make legos and Caleb was chosen to turn the wheel to get the painting machine going. Then we went on the Kingdom Quest ride where we were able to shoot at targets and get a score, so you can understand why there are no pictures from that....being the competitive person that I am, I couldn't take pictures while trying to beat my young children....okay, just my husband :)
We then went into this HUGE area where there were several stations the kids could run around to and play with legos or there was a very large play area they could play in too. This area was where they would build cars and race them down the slopes.
There was another ride that we waited in line for and I had to take this picture...
the ride...you had to pedal to go higher...needless to say, Josh and I both had to pedal pretty hard because Chloe and Keira were not tall enough to pedal...
Probably the most amazing lego display here was the city of Dallas...here we have the Cowboy stadium.....some of them were interactive.
DFW airport
The skline....
We then ventured into a 4D cinema where they showed a movie...I guess I didn't really know what 4D was, but I do now....we got rained on, snowed on, and had wind blown in our faces. It was super cool. The kids loved it.
They had this princess room where this little princess could have stayed all day.

Another place they had was for the littler kids, so the girls spent some time here too.

Another ride for Keira
After all the fun, we went through the shop (you know they conveniently put the shop between the exit of legoland and the exit of the mall...) and got a little souvenier...We had a blast!
